My name is Pat, a living breathing human :). I teach pranayama (the art of ancient breathwork; see teaching timetable below).
Absolutely everyone is welcome to join. If you can breathe, you can take part.

Classes are donation based. I send a payment link through Zoom chat after each class. You pay what you feel is appropriate.
All classes can be done while sitting or lying down and are suitable for beginners.

FAQs
Do I need prior knowledge or experience of pranayama or other breathing/breathwork practices to start?
No. The breathing practices we use are simple to understand and to easy learn.
Do I need any special equipment?
No. No special equipment is needed.
Do I need to wear special clothing?
No, but loose clothing is good. Your stomach, chest, and neck area should not be restricted.
Do I need to be physically fit?
No. But you you will need to tell me if you have had or have any significant health issues such as heart problems, high or low blood pressure, stomach ulcers, or any recent abdominal surgery etc.
Should I eat or drink anything before a class?
Leave a 2-hour gap between eating and class, and a 30 minute gap between drinking and the start of class. A small cup of warm water with lemon 45 minutes or so before class starts is good.

What is Pranayama?
Pranayama is the ancient art of yoga breathing. It includes different types of breathing techniques (fast/slow/alternate nostril etc), with the overall aim of moving the practitioner towards a state of calm and meditation.

My Pranayama Practice
My pranayama practice forms part of my daily routine. Most days I get up at 4.30am, do 1hr physical yoga then 20-30 minutes pranayama. I’ll do another short pranayama session before lunch and then a gentle session in the evening before bed.
